East of the two massive voids that remain on Locust Street in the wake of the 1976 firestorm, a cluster of small buildings survives at 20th Street.

2001 Locust Street

This building was first converted to restaurant service in 1997 as Pablo's; the curved glass block wall was added at that time to the designs of architect Paul Fendler. In 2006, it was the Nectar Lounge; by 2011, the building was occupied by Mexican restaurant El Barracho.


2005 Locust Street

A modestly scaled Romanesque building in red brick, with terra cotta trim and sumpuously curvacous brick trim. Home to The Pepper Lounge as of 2008.
