St. Roch Church

6040 Waterman Avenue
St. Louis (West End)
Architect: Lee & Rush
1922

St. Roch echoes the Tudor Gothic forms of nearby Washington University, though it is clad in red brick rather than the pink granite of the Hilltop Campus. The octagonal bell tower is a lavish confection.

Within, light colored finishes create an airy sanctuary, despite the comparatively small amount of window surface. Most ornament is concentrated around the altar.
