The white-painted brick house was nearly demolished in 2000, part of an aborted renovation plan for the neighboring Moolah Temple. That plan fell through, however, and the house remains standing, apparently belongs to a "retail barter group" named BXI.

The circa 1880 house rewards a closer look by revealing a number of attentive details.
