| Metropolitan Building
The Metropolitan Building is a turn-of-the-century office building which has seen better days.
It has been boarded up and empty for many years. A renovation project sputtered its way through the latter half of the 2000s, finally fizzling out by 2009.
The Metropolitan is a far more restrained design than its fraternal neighbor. Simple surface patterns
and outlining recall the Chicago School style. The building once sported a projecting cornice, now missing
like so many others in the city.
