St. Louis Place Park
May 2003: St. Louis Place Park is long and linear, encompassing 9 half-blocks between 21st Street and Rauschenbach Avenue. It is lined by handsome but generally modest townhouses and bungalows, along with several churches, a civic building, and an Art Deco fire station that is still in service today.

March 2003: A large housing development has gone up at the southern end of the park, replacing what had been vacant land. It is not very memorable architecturally (are gable fronts always necessary?) but it is urban in form and scale, and its presence greatly helps this badly wounded neighborhood.
