Mother's Fish Restaurant
923 Locust Street
Built: ?
Architect: ?
Status: vacant for several years
A faux half-timbered facade conceals what is apparently one of downtown's oldest commercial buildings, dating from the Civil War era. Cast iron columns at street level still give evidence of its original storefront configuaration both at the corner and the alley.
The building and its neighbor to the east were recently purchased by Roberts Brothers Properties, who are contemplating replacing them both with a new structure.
