Built St. Louis
South City: Soulard
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church is the largest of the Soulard churches, and the most prominent due to its highly visible location along 7th Street.
Allen Street steadily climbs to the west, and is lined with typical Soulard houses -- sturdy red brick stock, full-faced at the street with gallery wings behind, often backed by lovely and intimate gardens.
At 9th Street, one of the area's most charming little details is the tiled base of an 1871 corner building, advertising "Cheer Up" and "Smile" sodas. Refresh with a Smile!
