Today the avenue west of Tucker is slowly evolving into the city's loft district. It is also home to a number of dance clubs, giving St. Louis a badly-needed center of nightlife, as well as the fabulous City Museum.
Architecturally, the concentration of multi-story manufacturing buildings from the turn of the century is impressive; equally impressive is the number of blocks that survive intact.
This tour will cover virtually every pre-World War 2 building between 4th and 18th Streets (including a few of decidedly questionable architectural value), and some others besides.
