Prairie Avenue is the only street that runs through the park; as such, it was a commercial street back in the day, with various remnants still hanging on today.

It was heartbreaking to return to this area in 2007 and discover that two of these three Prairie Avenue houses were gone. Their tiny hipped roofs made them completely unique.
