A sampling of houses and apartments from Virginia Avenue.

Previously the Mellow Memorial United Methodist Church, this 1903 church at Virginia and Haven housed the first Methodist congregation in the neighborhood. The cornerstone calls it the Carondelet Methodist Episcopal Church, but it was more popularly known as the Haven Street Church.

Today it sports more recent signage advertising The Connection - "Your New Church in St. Louis". The building suffered a fire in the 1980s, but the stained glass survived.

On Virginia Avenue at Robert Ave. stands a run of circa-1890 red brick rowhouses, complete with mousehole passageways, that would be right at home in Old North or Soulard. It is a bit of an oddball here in Carondelet.
