Built St. Louis > > Central Corridor > > Midtown > > Coronado Hotel
The Coronado is one of Midtown's most massive structures. The lower portion opened in 1923, with the
tower section completed 6 years later. It was designed by Preston Bradshaw, one of a string of prominent hotels and apartment buildings by his office, including the Chase and the Lennox.
The Coronado Hotel closed in the 1960s; the building served as a SLU dormitory for 20 years, followed by 15 years of vacancy. After nearly 3 years of renovations, it has re-opened as an apartment complex.
