Across the street from the new art museums is a trio of surviving houses -- one in a Queen Anne style tinged with Romanesque heaviness, one a French Second Empire townhouse, and the center house... not quite like any other I'm aware of.

Much of the remainder of the street front is empty. A few minor buildings still stand; most are apparently vacant. Like so many in Midtown, the street stands silent... waiting for a return of the life it once knew.
